When I heard she was coming to Singapore, I was so so so happy and excited. Which Uaena wont feel this way? hahha I mean she is so precious, talented and amazing. If I ever meet her and get to talk to her personally, I will thank her for these beautiful songs which she composed. I saw her Hong Kong Concert performance videos where by she got so emotional and cried when she sang "Dear Name", this made me cry for the very first time watching her videos as well. I do not cry easily too but seeing my favourite artist getting so emotional made me so touched that I cried hahahah. :")
On 13th December, IU came to the airport with a comfortable, humble and effortless attire and I like how she is confident with her own way of dressing without caring about what others think. She is a very smart person. On the very day of the concert, 15th December, I got to finally see her in real life and pretty close up since I bought a CAT1 ticket at the C section. She is prettier in real life with really great and lively presence. It is her 10th aniversary concert, thus the concert theme is a story of herself with songs in progression with time. When she first appeared at the start of the concert, I literally saw a princess entering with beautiful long hair and sparkly black dress. The first song she sang was "The Red Shoes" from the bossa nova album. I loved it the most when she performed "BBI BBI". I have known her for 7 years straight so I could tell she was really happy?!? I mean probably cause we Singaenas sang along with great hype and this is also her latest song release. To see that we loved it so much, I guess it made her so happy and it gives her strength. She mentioned she was really happy too after singing the song and she was saying "thank you for making me feel like this, im really happy now.. " and "overseas fans seems to love these kind of songs very much! " and mentioned how happy the songwriter will be after witnessing the great response too. She indeed put in lots of effort to improve her english that now I do not think she actually needs a translator! She was speaking to singaenas in english almost 80% of the time! When she sang "Good Day" I was so honoured to have witnessed her three high octave notes! :) I was wondering if I was on earth or in heaven already HAHAH. I hope she really takes care of her throat though.. it must be quite straining for her. :( I hope she takes time to rest up well.
Although she was on the stage focusing on performing, she really genuinely made Uaenas feel her great sincerity and genuine heart while performing with all her smiles, emotions and deep thoughts. She shared about how she used to write sad and dark songs in the past as she focuses more on the hate, but she have learnt to love more and spread love around instead. Most importantly, she said that she loves herself, which made me feel really really glad and happy. She deserves so much happiness with her kind and beautiful heart with all the great hardwork behind those amazing performances. Her close and funny interactions with her staff and back up dancers are so cute and amazing too. I wonder how does it feel to be able to work with amazing Jieun unnie. While she was performing, I realised she loves to point and gesture to her fans and she actually do pay attention to her fans very much. She makes the extra effort to communicate with her fans at a deeper level. Her small gestures such as posing for her fans at the airport despite her tiredness, buying korean snacks for fans waiting at the airport and giving en-encores to her fans too. These definitely warmed my heart and all the other Uaenas. She also has a habit of drinking a few sips of water after one or two songs. I am glad she is keeping herself hydrated. But I hope she really takes care of her health well without over-exerting herself. I realised she has a really good stamina though!
Another song I really love is "Marshmallow" ! I was so glad I get to see her perform this song for the very first time and the last time. She mentions that it is time for her to put aside the cute image of herself. I feel that it is also awesome that now she has a mixture of cuteness and swag in her songs, since a 25 year old grown person will not always like to be called a cutie all the time.I felt she was super cool and swag when she performed "Twenty-Three" with a dance break along with her male dancer. She also suits the fashionable spectacles she wore when she sang "Glasses", another side of her which I love. She honoured Kim JongHyun during the concert as well by singing "Gloomy Clock" my heart aches alittle when she said "I am going to sing this song for someone I really miss". At first I was kinda blur as to who she was referring to haha omg I don't even know why.. probably too mesmorised by her charm. xD
"Through the Night" and "Dear Name" was really touching and her voice was so soothing and I literally adjusted my hair behind my ears to get the fullness of her great voice. Omg and I cannot emphasize on how good she looked with that beautiful white dress which made her look like a perfect goddess. After the encore, I thought maybe she really had to leave as she had to catch a flight early the next day to Bangkok. But !! she surprised her fans with an EN-ENCORE!! I loved how smart and savage she was when she mentioned how an en-encore is not part of the concert and to allow Singaenas to take videos of her. Like she literally made the effort to talk to the security. :") Thank you so much Jieun Unnie wow. Best of the best! "The Shower" is also a song i listened to often on the way back from school and on rainy days. So when she sang that, I felt even luckier!! I also really loved it when she said she loves Singapore very much and she is going to come back with her family next year! :) She had a great time in Singapore for the last two day before the concert.. hehe. I really miss her already and I hope she comes back again real soon! Really love her so so much and I am really grateful and felt really blessed that she came all the way to Singapore to perform. She is like a role model to me. I am also very proud to see her growth, success and wisdom throughout these years. She did not have to be sorry at all that she came to Singapore only now. She has been such a sweet little bean to people around her. This concert experience will always stay as one of my best momories in my life, I will never forget this day as well as a Singaena. 💜💓
